BHIM App For iPhone Available; Features And How To Use It

National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) has launched the BHIM (Bharat Interface for Money) app for iOS platform and it is available for download on Apple App Store. Just to let you know, already there are many apps available with similar names and brand logo. Before downloading the app from App Store, make sure it’s from NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) or you can also search ‘BHIM by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI)’. For your information, the app is already available on Google Play Store as it was launched back in December last year by Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The BHIM app for iOS will support over 30 Banks like State Bank of India, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra, Union Bank of India, IDBI Bank and HDFC Bank and later on, the app will support more banks. As of now, the app is currently available in English and Hindi and later on the support for regional languages like Kannada, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, Odia, Malayalam and Gujarati will be there.

According to a press note,

“The BHIM App on iOS platform is equipped with updated features available on BHIM’s Android version 1.2. This includes Pay to Aadhaar Number, SPAM report, Customer Redressal Mechanism with drop down menu and more.”

For easy and quick payment transactions, the app uses Unified Payments Interface (UPI). The BHIM app for the iOS device also has a limit and it is restricted to Rs. 10,000 per transaction and Rs. 20,000 in a day, transfers through a bank account.

The BHIM app does not work on the non-cellular iPad’s

Commenting on the announcement, A. P. Hota, MD & CEO, National Payments Corp of India (NCPI), said:

“The BHIM App will now cater to almost 100 per cent smartphone users in the country with the launch on iOS platform. This will ensure wider acceptance for digital transactions among consumers across all sections. Though market share of iPhones is not very large in India, users of iPhone are high transacting customers. Therefore, it is a development of special significance as it will help to boost transaction volumes.”

Features of BHIM iOS App

1. Transfer Money

To transfer money from BHIM app for iOS, you need mobile number or virtual payments address (VPA). The person whom you wish you to send money has registered their mobile number with their bank account. If the mobile number of the beneficiary not registered with the bank, then you will not be able to transfer money using the BHIM app for iOS.

2. Receive Money

To receive money from anyone, you should have a virtual payments address (VPA) or mobile number. This is similar to transferring money from BHIM app for iOS.

3. Transfer Money through – Scan & Pay

The BHIM app for iOS comes with inbuilt QR code scanner, like every e-wallet(s). By just scanning the QR code you can make payments easily and that too without any error. There is no need to ask for VPA or mobile number.

4. Receive Money through QR code

The BHIM app for iOS comes with the option of generating QR code and it uses your virtual private address (VPA). The QR code feature is useful as there is no need to share VPA or mobile number. Like transfer money, though – scan & pay, in a similar way you can receive money through QR code.

5. My Information – Transactional records

The BHIM app for iOS maintains all your transactional records whether they are pending, completed, or failed.

How to install BHIM App on iOS device

Step1: Open the App store on your iPhone/iPad (Cellular).

Step 2: Search for the ‘BHIM NPCI app’ in app store.

Step3: Find the app in search and tap on it to install.

Step4: After installing, the icon will appear on your iPhone.

Step5: Now, you have to add bank and get started with it.
