Apple launched the company’s latest tablet – Apple iPad Air 2 at a starting price tag of US $499 and it is touted as the thinnest tablet in the world & most powerful iPad ever. It comes with metallic finish in Gold, Silver and Space Gray colour and will be available through the Apple Online Store (www.apple.com), Apple’s retail stores and through AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, additional carriers and select Apple Authorized Resellers. The Apple iPad Air 2 with Wi-Fi model costs US $499 for the 16GB model, US $599 for the 64GB model and US $699 for the 128GB model. The Apple iPad Air 2 with Wi-Fi + Cellular models costs US $629 for the 16GB model, US $729 for the 64GB model and the US $829 for the 128GB model.
The Apple iPad Air 2 features 9.7-inch Retina display with anti-reflective coating reduces glare by 56 percent for a cleaner display and it has a resolution of 2048-by-1536-pixel resolution at 264 ppi. It is powered by second generation 64-bit A8X chip and the new Apple-designed A8X chip delivers 40 percent improvement in CPU performance and 2.5 times the graphics performance of iPad Air. The Apple iPad air comes with M8 motion coprocessor which gathers motion data from the accelerometer, gyroscope, compass and all-new barometer which senses air pressure to provide relative elevation. The new iPads come with iOS 8.1 operating system and offers continuity features across iOS 8 & OS X Yosemite.
It has 8MP iSight and it capture rich, detailed images. It comes with new features like panoramic in Photos, time-lapse video, slo-mo and 1080p HD video. The FaceTime HD Camera able to capture over 80 percent more light when compare to Apple iPad Air camera and features burst more as well as HDR stills & video.
The Apple iPad Air comes with faster connectivity with 802.11 ac Wi-Fi with MIMO technology while the iPad Air 2 with Wi-Fi + Cellular integrates more LTE bands. The Touch ID offers secure way to unlock iPad and can be used as a secure way to approve purchases from the App Store, iTunes Store or iBooks Store.
It packs built-in 27.3-watt-hour rechargeable lithium-polymer battery which offers 10-hour battery life while working, playing games or surfing the web.
It is only 6.1mm thin and weighs less than a pound. It also comes with Touch ID which allow users to unlock their iPad with just a touch of finger. In addition to this, users can make purchases easily & securely within apps using Apple Pay.
